Sun Damaged Skin

Sun damage can cause a wealth of problems for the skin. Uneven pigmentation (resulting from an increase in melanin), wrinkles, spots, and other issues are common results of Sun damage. It can appear incredibly unsightly and can create the appearance of serious premature ageing.

The best approach to handling sun damaged skin is via professional treatment offered by Luxe Skin’s Dr Q. These treatments are highly effective in handling sun damage.

Treatments

The primary treatments for sun damage are Dermamelan, chemical peels, and Microneedling.

Dermamelan

Dermamelan is a professional treatment used to stop the production of melanin for dark spots, while also removing those existing dark spots from the skin layer. The treatment works by peeling the skin layer. The result is that it will massively improve the appearance of the skin.

Dermamelan treatments do not damage the pigment cells – so there is not a risk of any white spots appearing.

Chemical Peels

Chemical peels work by using a mix of acids to remove older layers of dead skin cells – allowing fresh, healthier skin cells to emerge.

Treatment for Sun Damaged Skin

In effect, it’s a controlled means to shed layers of damage skin, while leaving a new, fresh layer in place. This has the effect of evening out the look of the skin, and is a great way to improve

Chemical peels are an excellent way to handle Sun Damage. They’re effective at improving the appearance, if not removing, scars, spots, uneven pigmentation, and other marks. Sunspots and other fine damage can as such be serious improved by a chemical peel treatment from Dr Q.

Chemical peels vary in strength and treatment can last from 1 to 6 sessions, depending on the strength of the peel and level of sun damage.

Microneedling

Microneedling is a minimally invasive and non-surgical treatment which causes tiny ‘wounds’ which stimulate the production of new, healthier skin cells. This evens the appearance of the colour of the face – while also helping to separate clusters of melanin spots – breaking them down and lightening dark spots. The ability of Microneedling to speed up the turnover of new cells makes it a superb option to reduce the appearance of sun damage.
