Microneedling Glasgow

What is this and how can it help?

Microneedling is a minimally invasive skin rejuvenation procedure that creates thousands of epidermal microchannels allowing active ingredients to pass through the skin. Micro needling treatments can be done using a roller containing needles or a pen. The skin roller is effective but is usually quite painful. We use a microneedling pen where the needles oscillate vertically thus avoiding the drag caused by a roller. The controlled trauma caused to the skin by microneedling stimulate the skin to repair itself thus increasing collagen and elastin production and in doing so this improves the quality of the skin. We add nutritional serums during the procedure which aim at reducing pigmentation, signs of ageing and help in tightening the skin.

Triggering the body’s natural wound healing response through a microneedling treatment produces new, healthier skin cells in the target area, creating a more youthful and vibrant looking complexion. Despite tiny needles being used to create tiny punctures in the skin, there are very few side effects to microneedling treatments, and the process itself can be made painless using nothing more than a mild anaesthetic cream. Microneedling can be used in conjunction with other cosmetic treatments such as anti wrinkle injections in some cases to produce more impressive results.

Microneedling vs. Peels

Microneedling is a great alternative to peels. It resurfaces the skin with minimal downtime and can be combined with nutritional serums or PRP for an even better result. Microneedling and superficial peels can be done alternately for enhanced skin resurfacing. Medium TCA peel provides a deeper exfoliation but has a downtime of 5-7 days.
